Pitsea Town Mural

Our community project with Creative Basildon brings vibrant public art to the heart of Pitsea, transforming a temporary construction fence into a striking visual feature. The mural will be recreated inside the new NHS Diagnostic Centre and community space once the building is complete.

Serving as a colourful landmark during the construction period, the artwork reflects local stories and identities while the build is underway. The project included a series of collaborative workshops with local schoolchildren from Basildon Upper Academy and Northlands Primary School, whose ideas and creativity helped shape the final design.

The mural celebrates Pitsea’s heritage, diversity, and forward-looking spirit through bold imagery and layered motifs inspired by community, nature, and everyday life. The finished work not only enhances the central streetscape but also reimagines a temporary fence that will remain in place for at least two years.
