Gardners

Gardners are a fifth generation family business, established in 1870, specialising in paper and plastic bags, as well as market sundries. After relocating from their original location at Spitalfields to their new store in Leyton, we were commissioned to liven up and attract new local customers to the shop.

Keeping the previous iconic green facade in mind, we wanted to give the new exterior a refreshed, lighthearted feel to suit owner Paul’s personality. We focused the type-based design on a few memorable Cockney rhyming slang phrases and incorporated the business’ renowned shade of green.

“We had a cockney rhyming slang mural painted outside our shop which looks FANTASTIC! Kirsty and Brittany did it in a couple days and sent over a set of different designs to choose from. It transformed the old worn out wall and makes me smile every time I drive to the shop - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”
